Friday was my thirty-fifth birthday and I have to say it was the most celebrated one so far. I woke up at 2:30 in the morning and went to the shala at 4:35 to practice led primary at 5am but the room was totally full. People were in the waiting room outside the Shala and in the dressing rooms doing their pratice. I left with a friend and he bought me a coffee for my birthday and then we went back to the Shala for the 6:30 class. I did not think there would be many people but the room was full again due to the fact that all of Sharath's students were in the main Shala as well. This time I got a spot. When I returned home, my birthday card from my mom had just arrived, talk about timing. After some friends took me out for breakfeast and then I did a few massages and then more friends took me out to this great lunch buffet. Pasta, salad, soup and much more. Really good. After all of this I had two other groups of friends and then I went to a going away party. I was surprised when they had cake for me and sang happy birthday to me. Afer all of this excitement was the Peies celebration at this guy Luiz's place. An incredible party, the music was fantastic, the lights were spectacular and there was even fire works. I wonder who he paid off for this?
Holi is a celebration where they trough all sorts of colors all over your body. I do not know why but it is kind of fun but looks more fun then it is. I think it is much bigger up North and more people celebrate it and there is more of a party atmostphere. Anyway I used this celebration for my decorative party atire yesterday. I looked pretty cool, all purple and orange and turquise and yellow. I enjoyed they way people would look at me while they were talking to me. Amazed that I was this purple looking being. Unfortunately I cleaned up early because I hit my had on a door frame and busted it open. I was amazed with how hard the impact was abd the feact I saw a white flash of light and thn I was lying on my back rolling from side to side. I finally piked myself up and that is when the blood started to pour down my face. I did get a little freaked because of the amount of blood but I think I am ok now. I do have a couple of photos if anyone are to see. It is pretty awesome looking with the colored powders and the blood running down my face. I do not know if it is for all to see. On my final head stand I kept my head off the groung and just balanced on my arms. I skipped the last seven head stands at the end of intermediate, other then that I felt fine. I may need to lay off my head for a little while.
                                                         peace, Chuck
